The Orphan / Greed Wears a Disarming Face The Prostitute
Voices in Archetypes: The Seeker
The Idealist
The Idealist
Expanding her exploration of archetypal and existential themes, Soho Rezanejad's Six Archetypes unfolds as a cinematic series of four episodes that double as immersive tableaux, rooted in both musical and visual composition. Originally conceived within her 2018 album, the series brings to life distinct human figures—the orphan, the actor, the seeker, the mother/prostitute, and the idealist—each archetype embodying complex intersections of identity and aspiration. Directed alongside Kamil Dossar, each visual sequence works as a spatially immersive prologue to Rezanejad’s philosophical exploration, drawing viewers into a dynamic portrayal of these figures through richly textured, stylistically charged scenes.
The mother/prostitute character, for example, confronts viewers with the duality of nurturing and societal perception, occupying a space where vulnerability and agency intermingle in contradiction. These visual embodiments transcend their individual narratives, operating as conduits for universal introspection and existential inquiry. With a style that suspends conventional boundaries between theater, opera, and cinematic abstraction, the videos align with TABLOID’s description of Rezanejad's work as an "opera and intimate ledger," rendering the archetypes in vivid, visceral detail that invites viewers to encounter themselves within these mirrored forms.
